Job Title:
Quality Inspector Job Description The Quality Inspector supports CNC manufacturing operations by performing first-piece, in-process, and final inspections of machined components for aerospace, defense, and medical applications. This role ensures that all parts meet stringent quality standards and customer specifications, while helping maintain efficient production workflows in a fast-paced job shop environment. Responsibilities Perform first piece acceptance inspections on the shop floor to support CNC manufacturing operations. Conduct in-process inspections as needed to verify dimensional accuracy and compliance with specifications. Complete final inspections of finished parts prior to shipment, ensuring all quality requirements are met. Prepare and compile final inspection and documentation packages required to ship finished products to customers. Read and interpret blueprints to verify that machined components conform to engineering requirements. Review and work with customer paperwork to accurately complete all required final inspection documents. Use standard inspection instruments, including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and indicators, to measure and verify parts. Support efficient production workflows by communicating inspection results and quality issues clearly to production personnel. Perform other quality-related tasks as assigned to support overall manufacturing and quality objectives. Essential Skills Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a job shop environment. Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment inspecting machined components. Proficiency using standard inspection instruments such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and indicators. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Ability to interpret and work with customer paperwork to complete final inspection documentation required for shipment. Strong ability to multi-task, prioritize workload, and manage time effectively. Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards in a production environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Knowledge of trigonometry is a plus and supports more complex inspection and measurement tasks. Working knowledge of gage calibration systems is a plus. Experience in quality control or quality inspection within CNC machining is highly beneficial. Why Work Here? Work Environment This is a full-time, first-shift position in a state-of-the-art CNC machine shop. The facility features a clean, organized, and comfortable work environment with central air, supporting focus and accuracy during inspection activities. You will work closely with production staff on the shop floor, using a variety of precision inspection tools and equipment to verify machined components. The environment is fast-paced and production-focused, with an emphasis on safety, quality, and teamwork. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milford, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
