Job Title:
Quality Technician Job Description The Quality Technician will develop, implement, and optimize testing methods for a wide range of plastic materials and products. This role involves designing and validating test protocols tailored to different plastic applications and performance requirements, as well as ensuring compliance with ISO-based quality systems. Responsibilities Develop and implement testing methods for plastic materials and products. Design and validate test protocols for various plastic applications. Perform and oversee comprehensive testing, including visual inspections, dimensional analysis, weight verification, abrasion and durability testing, and chemical and resistance testing. Ensure compliance withISO 9001
2015 and similar quality standards. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to enhance product quality and manufacturability. Support continuous improvement initiatives and expand testing capabilities. Utilize onsite lab resources to drive innovation in product validation and quality assurance. Essential Skills Experience in quality control, research and development, and visual inspection. Proficiency in test procedures and test plans. Knowledge ofISO 9001
standards. Experience in quality assurance, inspection, and blueprint reading. Background in plastics environment, particularly polymers. Experience with secondary processes such as injection molding and extrusion films. Ability to work with extruder or molding machines. Strong understanding of plastic polymer quality concerns. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in plastic testing, including tensile and hardness testing. Ability to adapt to various testing and quality assurance tasks. Experience with test engineering and test methods. Work Environment The position is based in a lab environment within a 400,000 sqft facility that is part of a global company. The role involves working with a wide range of clients in industries such as phones, cases, automotive, and piping, providing opportunities for growth and expansion. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Westchester, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
