Job Description
Summary/Objective:
PlantBased Innovations is a food manufacturing company focused on yogurts, dairy, and non-dairy cultured products. We are looking for a Quality Technician who is motivated and willing to come into an expanding Quality Department and Company to grow with us. Key assets of the individual will include problem solving capabilities as well as analytical and critical thinking capabilities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Essential Functions:
- Daily Duties include in-process line checks, sanitation pre-operative and in-process inspections and clearances, quality inspections of raw and finished goods, data recording of daily processes, calibration checks, retention sample collection, basic laboratory testing (including microbial, pH and viscosity), as well as product and packing checks.
- Responsible for conducting lab technician part of the facility internal audits and inspections.
- Perform sample management for all in-process, finished products and retention samples including recording samples and test results.
- Able to perform daily lab activities such as Cleaning of lab equipment, inventory maintenance of chemicals, preparation of lab consumables.
- Understanding basic cGMP standards for food production to assist with troubleshooting, documentation corrections/notes, and guidance during Production and Sanitation steps.
- Complete data entry as required.
- Oversee temperature monitoring for freezers and coolers.
- Assist in the shipment of the samples to contract labs and/or customers as required.
- Provide general housekeeping in the QC lab and any other functional activity as assigned by management.
- Perform daily quality assessments of facility, personnel, and documentation to uncover errors or deficiencies and assure quality and compliance as the need arises by SOP and cGMP requirements.
- Participates in rapid response and documentation for on the floor deviations, adverse events, and general safety events.
- Aids in continuous improvement development and works with the team to better the Quality team.
- The Quality Lab Technician reports to Quality Management.
- Perform and/or oversee weekly environmental monitoring and/or clean equipment swabs as required.
- Participate in sensory and finished product review/scoring as required.
- Provide support and oversight for sanitation teams as necessary.
- Perform daily GMP audits.

Quality Assurance Manager Preferred Skills:
- Clear and concise communicator, verbal, and written English.
- Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be eligible to work in the US.
- Must be able to work weekends, overtime and holidays as required.
- Must be able to bend and lift up to 55 pounds repetitively with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be able to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to withstand minimal exposure to temperatures that range from freezing to sub-freezing (coolers, freezers, etc.) with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be able to push, pull, squat, bend, and reach above and below shoulders, repetitive use of hands with or without reasonable accommodation.

Education:
- College Degree (General Sciences, Food Science, Agriculture, or any other applicable degrees) (Preferred)
- OR a high school or equivalent degree (Required) with applicable Quality experience.
Experience:
Manufacturing:
1 year (Preferred)- Quality assurance in FDA or USDA environment: 1-3 years (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- Food Handlers (Preferred)
- HACCP Certification (Preferred)
- SQF Certification (Preferred)
