Quality Technician - Overnights (3rd shift) Job Description The Quality Technician ensures that incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products consistently meet engineering specifications, customer requirements, and quality standards. This role performs detailed inspections and tests using precision measuring tools, documents and reports quality findings, and collaborates closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement in a highly automated manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Perform inspections of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to verify compliance with engineering specifications and established quality standards. Conduct a variety of inspections, tests, and measurements using appropriate tools and equipment to confirm product quality. Monitor manufacturing and operational processes to ensure alignment with internal quality requirements, industry standards, and customer specifications. Review engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to fully understand product and inspection requirements. Document, analyze, and report inspection and test results, including nonconformances, trends, and recommendations for corrective actions. Prepare clear and accurate quality reports that summarize findings and support data-driven decision-making. Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve quality issues in a timely manner. Participate in root cause analysis activities to determine underlying causes of quality problems and support implementation of effective corrective and preventive actions. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality, process capability, and overall operational efficiency. Maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date records of inspections, tests, nonconforming material, and other quality control activities. Support the training of production personnel on quality standards, procedures, inspection methods, and best practices. Comply with all established safety policies and housekeeping standards, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Stay current on relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements, and emerging technologies related to manufacturing and solar energy. Perform other related quality control duties as assigned to support operational needs.MUST HAVE
Skills Minimum of 4+ years of experience in quality control within a manufacturing environment. Proficiency using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and thermal imaging cameras. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and product specification documents. Hands-on experience preparing detailed quality reports and documentation. Experience in root cause analysis and problem-solving for quality issues. Experience with quality documentation, including recording inspection results and managing nonconforming material. Ability to perform accurate measurements, tests, and inspections using appropriate tools and methods. Familiarity with quality control principles, standards, and best practices in a production setting. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a clean, climate-controlled, and highly automated manufacturing facility designed to support high-quality production and comfortable working conditions. The position follows a 3-2-2-3 schedule (three days on, two days off, two days on, three days off), providing a three-day weekend every other week. Shifts are 12 hours in length, with night shifts running from 6:00 p.m. to 6:15 a.m., and employees do not rotate between day and night shifts. Work involves regular use of precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and thermal imaging cameras, as well as engagement with automated equipment and quality documentation systems. Team members follow established safety policies, use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain high housekeeping standards throughout the facility. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brookshire, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
