In this role, you will lead the creation and refinement of new food products, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and nutritional value. Your expertise in scientific research, food processing, and industry regulations will drive continuous improvement and innovation across our product portfolio. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of food offerings through cutting-edge research and development, making a tangible impact on consumer experiences worldwide. Duties Develop, test, and refine new food products by applying principles of biochemistry, microbiology, and nutrition to meet market trends and consumer preferences. Track sauce development from new products, to formulation, to scaling up for Production. Develop nutritional information in labeling. Develop Specification sheets. Conduct laboratory experiments to analyze ingredient interactions, shelf life stability, and sensory attributes, ensuring compliance with FDA regulations, GFSI standards, and HACCP protocols. Lead research initiatives to improve existing products through scientific investigation, data collection, root cause analysis, and process optimization. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to scale up prototypes from laboratory to production while maintaining quality assurance and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices). Implement quality control measures by monitoring sanitation practices, food safety protocols (HARPC), and quality systems to uphold strict safety standards. Manage packaging development processes to ensure product integrity, safety, and compliance with industry regulations. Document research findings thoroughly and prepare technical reports for regulatory submissions or internal review. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in Food Science, Food Technology, Biochemistry or related field; advanced degrees preferred. Proven experience in food industry research & development with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and food processing techniques. In-depth knowledge of FDA regulations, HACCP, HARPC (Hazard Analysis and Risk-Based Preventive Controls), GFSI standards, CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices), and sanitation procedures. Hands-on laboratory experience with microbiology testing, analysis skills, data collection tools, and quality assurance methodologies. Familiarity with nutrition principles, product development cycles, packaging innovations, and continuous improvement strategies. Strong analytical thinking skills combined with problem-solving abilities such as root cause analysis to address production challenges effectively. Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration within a fast-paced environment dedicated to food safety and quality management.
