Job Description

Real Estate Closing Paralegal, Deep River CT Established Law Firm seeks a Closing Paralegal for closing real estate transactions. We offer a unique, personal and professional office environment with a positive and supportive culture. We have a community-wide reputation earned over the past 45 years for high ethical values and deep expertise in a variety of specialties and for treating clients, peers and staff with respect and kind consideration. Work closely with one other experienced Paralegal to process and close real estate transactions, providing a high level of service and consistent communications with clients, lenders, attorneys and realtors via telephone and email. Resolve issues as they arise in a calm and open manner.
  • Manage a varying case load of approximately 15 closings per month
  • home sales and purchases as well as refinancings.
  • Prepare and compile documents for closings including closing disclosures, deeds, title insurance policies, state specific forms, tax information and order payoffs; read and comply with lender instructions.
  • Use Quickbooks for accounting and reconciling accounts
  • Support Principal in other legal and administrative areas, including Probate as overlapping transactions require. Qualifications
  • 2 to 10+ years' experience in a Closing Department, as a Mortgage Processor or in a related office administration position
  • Experience with Quickbooks or similar
  • Naturally organized, efficient, comfortable with math and consistently accurate; not stressed by deadlines of varying workloads.
  • Diligent work ethic and a cooperative team player
  • Paralegal certification not necessary
  • We are willing to train a candidate with alternative office administration experience willing to learn.
The hallmarks of this candidate will be the ability to interface with people professionally while working through roadblocks and problems to achieve a sound outcome for the benefit of all parties. Also excellent attention to detail and math proficiency. Quickbooks or similar a plus. Will need to learn specialized programs.
Pay:
Up to $30.00 per hour
