The Onondaga Central School District is located south of Syracuse in upstate New York nestled in a valley with rural surroundings. A staff of 183 full and part-time employees, three academic buildings, preschool, a transportation center, and administrative offices commonly serve an enrollment of approximately 740 students, Pre-Kindergarten to twelfth grade.

Please note:

Immediate need for certified substitute teachers ($150/day) and substitute teaching assistants ($124/day). Recess Monitor Wheeler Elementary (grades 3-6) is seeking a lunch monitor starting 9/2/2026. The position follows the student schedule and the daily schedule is 10:15 - 12:45 p.m. The recess monitor supervises elementary students during recess periods, ensuring a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment. Responsibilities include monitoring student behavior, reinforcing school rules, and promoting a positive and caring atmosphere. The ideal candidate is nurturing, attentive and dependable, with a strong commitment to student safety and well-being.
