This position is responsible for customer service functions, membership sales and retention strategies, and daily interactions that shape the overall guest experience. Utilizes innovative and customer-focused strategies to meet membership growth, retention, and engagement goals while working within established budgets and operational frameworks. The position requires frequent interaction with staff and the public, often in dynamic and fast-paced environments. Performs general programming support functions related to special events and recreation programs, ensuring seamless coordination between membership services and program delivery. Applies self-direction to maintain and enhance the high-quality standards of the Parks and Recreation Department. Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and leadership skills are essential, along with a thorough working knowledge of customer service operations, membership systems and recreation facility practices.EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Management or similar Emphasis on facility management preferredEXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 3
years of experience in recreation management or similar 1 year of Supervisory ExperienceADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS DRIVING
Valid Driver's LicenseCERTIFICATIONS CPR AED

Parks and Recreation DirectorESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
[ The fundamental job duties the individual must be able to perform, with or without accommodation; removal of these functions would fundamentally change the job) Responsible for membership growth, retention, and engagement initiatives by developing and executing strategic plans, analyzing participation and membership data, and implementing targeted outreach and customer experience improvements to meet or exceed established goals. Responsible for the selection, evaluation, and onboarding of part-time Recreation Center personnel. Supervises, trains, and evaluates part-time staff to ensure that direct reports represent the Parks & Recreation Department in a positive way. Demonstrates visible, hands-on leadership and supports direct reports. Promptly and proactively responds to staff needs. Actively assists staff when operations are busy. Ensures adequate staffing coverage by proactively addressing scheduling gaps and stepping in to support operations as needed. Fosters positive public relations among staff and patrons, using professional, respectful, and appropriate communication. Leads and models exceptional customer service standards, addressing and resolving patron concerns while continuously improving the overall member experience. Develops and implements marketing strategies and materials to promote membership growth and meet revenue goals, including print and digital campaigns. Builds and maintains partnerships with local businesses and community organizations to support membership outreach and engagement; tracks and documents outreach efforts. Develops, maintains, and communicates comprehensive facility schedules, ensuring accuracy across programs, rentals, and staffing, and proactively sharing updates to support staff readiness and customer awareness. Orders and maintains inventory of Rec Center building supplies in a timely and cost-effective manner. Performs miscellaneous tasks to maintain integrity, proper appearance, and a safe environment for employees and the public. Develops and analyzes membership, attendance, and operational reports to inform decision-making, identify trends, and improve overall facility performance. Develops, implements, and enforces Recreation Center policies and procedures. Makes recommendations for fees, memberships, and other revenue generating options for the facility. Monitors and controls cost and operates within an established budget. Coordinates and approves park, facility, field, and inflatable rentals. Assists full-time Building Maintenance position with routine pool and building operations. Coordinates fitness orientations for members. Conducts seasonal in-services for building and front desk teams. Serves as liaison for contracted cleaning companies. Understands the cleaning schedule and scope of the contract. Conducts weekly building walkthroughs to assess cleanliness and contract compliance, meeting with the cleaning company as needed for follow up. Assists Parks and Rec Director with capital improvement planning and budgeting. Documents injuries and incidents in a timely manner using the proper accident reporting form. Coordinates with Community Engagement Strategist to market programs, memberships, and facility. Manages select leagues and programs. Assists with creation of departmental brochures. Assists with special Parks and Recreation events. Regular and routine onsite attendance.SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS
