Recreation Services Assistant at
Wake Robin Position Summary:

As a Recreation Services Assistant, you'll play a hands-on role in creating engaging, person-centered experiences that support residents' independence, well-being, and joy. This role focuses on enhancing residents' physical, cognitive, social, and emotional well-being through meaningful individual and group activities. The Recreation Services Assistant observes resident engagement and collaborates with care team members to adapt programming in alignment with resident needs and care plans.
Key Responsibilities:
Recreation Programming Plan, organize, and facilitate individual and group activities that support resident well-being Adapt activities to align with resident interests, abilities, and care plan goals Promote engagement by fostering a positive, inclusive, and respectful environment Participate in and support special events, outings, and community activities Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate programming and ensure continuity of care Resident Observation and Documentation Observe and report changes in resident participation, behavior, and condition to appropriate clinical staff Document activity participation, preferences, and relevant observations in the electronic medical record Maintain accurate and timely records in accordance with organizational standards Communication and Collaboration Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members Support family engagement as appropriate and refer clinical concerns to nursing staff Respond promptly to team needs and contribute to a collaborative work environment Supply and Resource Management Monitor and maintain activity supplies and equipment Communicate supply needs to supervisor in a timely manner Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Experience in recreation programming, healthcare, or a related field preferred Energy, creativity, and the ability to engage individuals and groups A genuine interest in working with older adults Strong communication and teamwork skills Basic computer skills, including electronic documentation High school diploma or equivalent required Therapeutic Recreation Specialist certification is a plus but not required; Wake Robin is supportive of professional development and may assist team members interested in working toward this certification.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Frequent walking, bending, stretching, and standing Ability to assist residents with mobility and positioning as needed Flexibility to work varying schedules, including occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays
Hiring Range:
$20.05 - $24.46/hour (Starting salary is determined based on candidate's experience, education, and relevant skills as well as internal equity considerations.) Due to our vulnerable resident population the COVID vaccine is highly recommended but not required.
