Job Description
EDUCATION
(must be required for position), LICENSE, CERTIFICATION andEXPERIENCE
1.Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. 2.Licenses:
Current Medical Assistant Certification and/or Registration required through an accredited organization (i.e. AMT, AAMA, NHA, etc.) 3.Certifications:
Non-Required 4.Experience:
1-2 years related experience preferred.REQUIRED SCREENINGS
1. Drug Screen 2. Physical Assessment 3. Tuberculosis screen 4. Background check (Criminal, Civil, Educational, Previous Employment, etc.) 5. Driver Record screen (positions requiring on-the-job driving)ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Reliable and punctual attendance is essential; expected to be at job as scheduled each scheduled day.
- Communications
- Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions
- Assemble information concerning patient's clinical background and referral needs; per referral guidelines, provide appropriate clinical information to specialists; review details and expectations about the referral with patients.
- Prioritizes referrals by their urgency and addresses them in a timely manner; maintain ongoing tracking and appropriate documentation on referrals to promote team awareness and ensure patient safety.
- Participates in the selection, orientation and training of referral processes.
- Reviews details and expectations about the referral with both ordering providers and patients; requests new referrals to be ordered when applicable;
- Ensure complete and accurate registration, including patient demographic and current insurance information.
