Job Description:
Operations Controller Flint, MI BH Solutions Group is an Executive Recruiting and Consulting firm located in Akron, OH. We have been retained by a Cleveland-based facilities management company to assist in their search for an Operations Controller who will be responsible for accurate and timely month-end closing; financial planning, analysis and reporting; and monitoring of transaction workflowprocesses within the assigned region(s). This position will design and administer financial processes with a focus on continuous improvement and scaling for growth. Responsibilities for the Operations Controller Partner with the regionaloperations management teams with a focus on financial literacyand managing the business by the numbers. Manage the annual budgetingprocess, income statements and capital expenditures, in collaboration with the Regional and Branch Managers. Responsible for data integrity, timely and accuratereporting, and coordination with customers, vendorsand internal constituents. Through coachingand training, grow and developstrong operations management personnel. Develop and track monthlyand weekly KPIs for operational and financial performance and partner with operations management personnel to develop strategies to achieve KPI targets. Supervise accountspayable and accountsreceivable specialist employeesincluding hiring, managing, terminating, developing and motivating the team. Oversee regionalaccounts receivable (invoicing, cash application, and customer collections). Oversee regionalaccounts payable (vendorpayments, cash flow planning, generalledger coding). Cross functional collaboration with the human resources department to ensureefficient and accurate accounting for payroll and employee benefits programs. Manage and be accountable for all generalledger activities relatedto regional month-end closing activities and timeline. Prepare reportsand perform requiredfilings to government agencies, customers, vendors,and auditors including activities related to tax filings, insurance programs, and company vehicles. Develop and deliver communications and educational financialmaterials for regionalmanagement. Develop, document, and enforce procedures with a focus on continuous improvement and efficiency. Lead accounting system enhancements as needed. Prepare and deliver reportsto the corporate leadership team. Assist in due diligence and integration activities for acquisitions. Requirements for the Operations Controller Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field or equivalent work experience. CPA or CMA certification is highly desirable. Demonstrated proficiency in US GAAP, general accounting, payroll, transaction processing, banking, financial planning and analysis, and best practices. 5+ years of related experience as a Controller or Accounting Manager. Prior public accounting experience helpful. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and Financial Accounting and Reporting systems. Ability to adapt to new technologies. Acumatica Accounting and Aspire Landscaping Management software experience highly desirable. Current knowledge of accounting standards, tax laws, best practices, and forward-looking trends. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail. Continuous improvement mindset. Interpersonal and customer service skills to deliver extraordinary experiences to employees and lead through authority and influence. Ability to succeed in a deadline driven, fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
