Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Registered Dental Hygienist and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care while promoting optimal oral health. Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque, tartar, and stains. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and dental examinations to inform treatment planning. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and the importance of maintaining healthy habits. Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Capture and review medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Open Dental Adhere strictly to infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and HIPAA regulations to protect patient health information and prevent cross-contamination. Support the dental team with administrative tasks related to medical coding, documentation review, and medical records management. Collaborate with dentists and other staff members to deliver comprehensive general dentistry services tailored to pediatric dentistry needs when applicable. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice. Proven experience working in dental clinics or offices with a strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Open Dental for documentation and record keeping. Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical imaging practices. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry principles is a plus but not mandatory; enthusiasm for working with children is highly valued. Ability to perform dental assisting tasks including chairside support during various procedures. Strong communication skills for patient education and team collaboration. $43.00 - $45.00 per hour
