The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care, excellent clinical skills, and a thorough understanding of dental procedures and hygiene practices. As a key member of our practice, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive dental hygiene services, supporting patient education, and ensuring the highest standards of infection control and safety. Your expertise will contribute to creating a welcoming environment where patients feel valued and cared for. Responsibilities Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque, tartar, and stains effectively. Conduct thorough patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment options to promote overall oral health. Assist in chairside procedures by preparing instruments, managing patient comfort, and ensuring aseptic techniques are maintained. Take and interpret dental radiographs using medical imaging equipment while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinic policies. Collaborate with dentists and other team members to develop personalized treatment plans for pediatric and general dentistry patients. Ensure infection control standards are strictly followed through proper sterilization procedures and use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix for documentation review and record keeping. Support the dental office's administrative functions by managing documentation review, medical coding, and patient scheduling as needed. Requirements Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice. Proven experience in dental hygiene within a clinical setting, preferably with pediatric dentistry or general dentistry backgrounds. Proficiency in using dental software such as Dentrix for charting, scheduling, and record management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques. Familiarity with EMR systems, medical coding, and documentation review processes. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse age groups including pediatrics. Ability to perform chairside assisting duties with competence in four-handed dentistry techniques. Understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security. Knowledge of vital signs monitoring, medical imaging procedures, and basic medical terminology is highly desirable.
