In this energetic and rewarding position, you will provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, assist with patient assessments, and support the overall efficiency of our dental practice. Your expertise will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel confident and cared for from their first visit to ongoing maintenance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to grow professionally while making a meaningful difference in patients' lives. Hours Wednesday 9-7 with a 1 hour lunch Friday 8-2 All New patients and SRP are 90 minutes Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental charts to develop personalized treatment plans. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient experience. Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and image quality for accurate diagnosis. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster lifelong healthy habits. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical history in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Follow strict infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures, to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Monitor vital signs and recognize signs of medical emergencies or health concerns that require immediate attention or referral. Support the dental team with chairside assisting during various procedures while maintaining a professional demeanor aligned with HIPAA regulations. Experience Previous experience working in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings is highly preferred. Proficiency with software Open Dental Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical coding standards enhances your effectiveness in this role. Experience with pediatric dentistry is a plus, as it enables tailored care for young patients in a compassionate manner. Demonstrated ability to perform dental assisting duties including chairside support, medical imaging, and documentation review is required. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations ensures confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive patient information.
