About Us Are you looking for a place that truly is a home for those who live there? With a 1:20 ratio, our 17-bed home serves only the priests and brothers of The Redemptorist Fathers who are a religious community of Roman Catholic priests whose mission is to preach the Good News to the poor and most abandoned throughout the world. Serving in more than 70 countries worldwide, the Redemptorist's have been active in ministry for nearly 300 years. Our home in New Smyrna Beach serves as a center for the priests and brothers who have retired from active ministry and need varying levels nursing care. We are offering a flexible 8-10 hour, weekdays only schedule to work at our home. Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Dietitian Nutritionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide expert nutritional care and guidance to our resident priests and brothers in a welcoming ALF/SNFsetting.. Your expertise will help improve health outcomes through personalized nutrition plans, patient assessments, and education. Primary Job Functions Nutritional Assessment:
Evaluate patients' dietary intake, medical history, and nutritional needs using standardized assessment tools
Medical Nutrition Therapy:
Develop and implement evidence-based nutrition interventions for managing chronic diseases like diabetes, heart disease, and kidney disorders
Patient Education:
Provide individual and group counseling on nutrition topics, meal planning, and lifestyle modifications
Menu Planning:
Design nutritionally balanced menus for healthcare facilities, schools, and community programs
Research and Documentation:
Conduct nutrition research, maintain detailed patient records, and contribute to evidence-based practice Skills Strong knowledge of physiology related to digestion, metabolism, and disease processes affecting nutritional needs. Skilled in diagnostic evaluation of nutritional status through patient assessment tools and laboratory data interpretation. Extensive background in hospital or acute care environments with familiarity in EMR systems for documentation. Experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics, patients requiring long-term care, and those undergoing weight management or weight loss programs. Excellent communication skills combined with health coaching techniques to motivate sustainable lifestyle changes.
