Prime Hiring Position Summary We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct patient care in a Behavioral Health / Psychiatric setting . The RN will assess patient conditions, administer medications, support crisis intervention efforts, and collaborate with the healthcare team to maintain a safe therapeutic environment. This is an excellent opportunity for nurses with experience in psychiatric, behavioral health, long-term care, or correctional healthcare settings . Schedule 3x12 Schedule (3 days per week, 12-hour shifts) Day and Night shifts available Rotating weekends and holidays may be required Key Responsibilities Assess, observe, and monitor patients with psychiatric and behavioral health conditions Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans Administer medications and monitor patients for side effects and reactions Respond to behavioral crises and assist with de-escalation interventions Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with facility standards Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, CNAs, and interdisciplinary teams Educate patients and families on treatment plans and medications Supervise LPNs, CNAs, and support staff as assigned Maintain patient safety and therapeutic structure within the unit Minimum Requirements Active North Carolina RN License Minimum 6 months nursing experience BLS Certification (AHA preferred) Strong communication, assessment, and crisis management skills Preferred Qualifications Experience in inpatient psych, state hospital, forensic psych, or mental health settings Familiarity with behavioral intervention and therapeutic communication techniques Ability to work effectively in high-acuity psychiatric environments
