Position Overview Responsible for medication management, assisting Medical Department Manager, Chief Medical Officer and Director of Acute Detox & Stabilization with medical policies and procedures, completing medical assessments upon admission to the detox & stabilization unit, oversee the medical staff on the unit. Will be responsible for including but not limited to: placing orders through Order Connect based on verbal orders during prescriber rounds, transcribing MARs, clarifying orders, medication inventory, narcotic counts, chart audits, milieu therapy, treatments and daily care for individuals admitted to the unit. Summary of the Essential Duties and Responsibilities Manage clients' pain relief and sedation by providing pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions, monitoring clients' responses, and changing care plans accordingly. Document data related to clients' care including assessment results, interventions, medications, patient responses, or treatment changes. Assist in the diagnosis of acute or chronic conditions that could result in rapid physiological deterioration or life-threatening instability. Assist in the diagnosis of psychiatric disorders and mental health conditions. Evaluate clients' behavior to formulate diagnoses or assess treatments. Distinguish between physiologically and psychologically based disorders and diagnose appropriately. Administer intravenous infusions, monitoring clients for adverse reactions. Assess urgent and emergent health conditions using both physiologically and technologically derived data. Collaborate with clients to plan for future health care need or to coordinate transitions and referrals. Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records. Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in clients' conditions. Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans. Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by clients' responses and conditions. Monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity. Direct or supervise less-skilled nursing or healthcare personnel on tasks as needed. Prepare clients for and assist with examinations and treatments. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including primary care, psychiatrists, psychologists, or nursing staff, to develop, implement, or evaluate treatment plans. Document clients' medical and psychological histories, physical assessment results, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, or outcomes. Provide clinical consultations to medical and clinical staff as needed/required. Provide education about medications and their effects to consumers and relevant family members or care givers. Maintain all required charting/paperwork requirements as defined by agency contracts or payer requirements. Ordering routine lab work for clients. Coordinating care with outside providers. Medication refills and prior authorizations. Other nursing duties as directed by the Medical Department Manager and the Director. Effective use of technology and software including but not limited to: computers, phones, email, EMR, etc. Ability to work with difficult cases and vulnerable populations. Be helpful, respectful, approachable and team-oriented. Effective time management including but not limited to: planning ahead where possible and be punctual in person and work performed. Build strong working relationships and a positive work environment. Be receptive to feedback, willing to learn, and embrace continuous improvement. Complete all documentation, reporting, and other paperwork per agency standards. Attend all appropriate staff, organizational, and external meetings (as assigned). Work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Ability to be flexible and manage urgent and crisis situations effectively. Ability to motivate staff and develop a working team around individual cases. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Nursing, Bachelor's degree preferred. Current WA Nursing license required MHP/MHS eligible, preferred 2-4 years of psychiatric nursing experience and/or in a sub-acute detox environment. Candidate should possess strong nursing assessment skillsSchedule:
