  • 5:00 PM) Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) for the Cardiac Catheterization Lab at Newton Medical Center.
The RN will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures while collaborating closely with physicians and multidisciplinary teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong critical care experience, excellent clinical judgment, and the ability to respond effectively in emergent situations. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Patient Assessment & Clinical Care Perform comprehensive and accurate patient assessments across the lifespan, from pediatric to geriatric populations. Deliver direct patient care in accordance with established nursing standards and Cath Lab protocols. Monitor and assess patients before, during, and after cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures. Demonstrate proficiency with emergency equipment, cardiac monitoring, and emergency response procedures. Recognize and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition. Documentation & Compliance Maintain complete, accurate, and timely documentation in the patient medical record. Document all aspects of the nursing process, patient responses, interventions, and education provided. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and documentation guidelines. Professional Practice Demonstrate accountability, professionalism, and adherence to organizational policies and procedures. Participate in maintaining a safe and collaborative patient care environment. Identify opportunities for professional growth and continued competency development. Patient Satisfaction & Communication Provide compassionate, respectful, and patient-focused care. Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members. Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Safety & Quality Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals and Universal Protocol standards. Utilize proper patient identification and safe patient handling techniques. Follow infection prevention and safety protocols consistently. Unit-Specific Responsibilities Demonstrate knowledge of cardiac conditions, Cath Lab procedures, equipment, and sedation/anesthesia considerations. Individualize patient care based on procedure type and patient needs. Educate patients and families regarding procedures, pre/post-procedure expectations, and discharge instructions. Perform pre-operative and post-operative assessments and education. Accountability & Team Collaboration Prioritize and coordinate patient care based on acuity and changing clinical conditions. Contribute positively to the perioperative and procedural care team. Support efficient patient flow and procedural readiness within the Cath Lab. Requirements Active RN License
  • Required BLS Certification
  • Required ACLS Certification
  • Required Minimum 2 years of Critical Care experience
  • Required Cath Lab experience preferred Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing Associate Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred Physical Requirements Must meet all physical requirements as defined by Occupational Safety/OMS standards.
Preferred Qualifications Strong experience in emergency cardiac response and STEMI care Excellent communication and teamwork skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced procedural environment Prior travel nursing experience preferred
Pay:
$85.00
  • $90.00 per hour Application Question(s): Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing Minimum 2 years of Critical Care experience
