Overview We are seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our homecare team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical experience across various specialties, including critical care, emergency medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, and outpatient settings. This role offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive patient care in a dynamic environment, utilizing advanced skills such as IV infusion, suturing, ventilator management, NG tube feeding and infection control. Experience with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks is preferred. The Registered Nurse will play a vital role in patient assessment, medication administration, diagnostic evaluation, discharge planning, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations. Administer medications and injections accurately following aseptic techniques and medical terminology standards. Manage airway care, ventilator support, IV insertions, catheterization, tube feeding, and ostomy care as needed. Perform diagnostic procedures such as blood draws (phlebotomy), specimen collection/processing, sonography, mammography, and gastric lavage. Provide acute pain management and participate in trauma medicine protocols within Level I/II trauma centers or emergency rooms. Assist with complex procedures including cardiac catheterization, spinal taps, dialysis treatments, and dermal fillers in outpatient or inpatient settings. Document all patient interactions thoroughly using EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Coordinate discharge planning and case management for post-acute care or hospice & palliative medicine patients. Maintain infection control standards and sterile processing protocols to ensure patient safety. Educate patients and families on health coaching, medication regimens, nutrition plans, and disease management strategies. Qualifications Valid RN license with current registration to practice nursing in the state of employment. Proven experience in diverse clinical environments including hospital medicine, ICU/trauma centers (Level I/II), emergency room (ER), urgent care, outpatient clinics, or long-term care facilities such as nursing homes or assisted living communities. Extensive knowledge of medical procedures including suturing, IV infusion/insertion, catheter care/catheterization techniques, phlebotomy/venipuncture, and sterile techniques. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks is highly desirable. Strong understanding of medical imaging modalities like sonography or mammography is a plus. Experience working with special populations including pediatrics (neonatal ventilator), geriatrics (memory/dementia care), patients with developmental disabilities or those requiring hospice & palliative care. Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations involving ICD coding (ICD-9/10) and CPT coding for billing purposes. Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration. Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) are required; additional certifications such as ACLS or PALS are advantageous.
