Role:
PMC Med Staff is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse for a fast-paced Med/Surg unit. As part of a collaborative healthcare team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional care to adult and geriatric patients, ensuring their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being. You'll be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care while working closely with other healthcare professionals to promote optimal health outcomes. This role offers an opportunity to make a direct, positive impact on patient lives.Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care & Assessment:
Conduct thorough patient assessments on admission, identifying physical, psychological, and social needs. Develop and update individualized care plans based on assessments, and ensure timely, compassionate care.Care Plan Implementation:
Execute and document interventions per care plans, reassessing and adjusting the plan as needed based on patient responses and progress.Patient Education & Advocacy:
Provide patient and family education on medical conditions, treatment plans, and self-care practices. Advocate for patients' needs and provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to both patients and families.Collaboration:
Work closely with physicians, multidisciplinary teams, and case management to ensure coordinated care. Facilitate communication between healthcare providers to address concerns and ensure optimal care delivery.Emergency Care:
Recognize changes in patient conditions and intervene appropriately. Respond swiftly to emergencies, applying critical thinking and clinical judgment.Quality & Safety:
Adhere to infection control standards, medication safety protocols, and other quality guidelines to maintain a safe environment. Ensure that all documentation complies with legal and regulatory standards.Discharge Planning:
Assist in discharge planning by identifying patient needs, collaborating with case management, and ensuring a smooth transition from hospital to home.Preferred Skills & Abilities:
Experience:
Previous Med/Surg experience preferred, but new graduates with a passion for patient care are encouraged to apply.Critical Thinking & Problem Solving:
Ability to think critically in high-pressure situations, making decisions based on evidence and patient needs.Communication:
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams effectively.Compassionate Care:
Strong focus on providing empathetic and compassionate care to diverse patient populations.Team Player:
