Job Description

Category Nursing - RN - MS Oncology Job Type Contract Join a dynamic medical-surgical oncology team dedicated to providing exceptional patient care in a highly supportive environment. This opportunity is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses with a strong med/surg background who are passionate about oncology and thrive in collaborative settings. The unit boasts a positive work culture, robust charge nurse support, state-of-the-art technology—including iPhone-based team communication—and is part of a top-ranked hospital recognized for clinical excellence.
Schedule:
Night shifts: 7:00 PM - 7:00
AM Qualifications:
Active RN license Med/Surg experience required Prior experience in oncology units preferred Chemo certification highly desired; ACLS certification preferred Familiarity with meditech EMR is a plus Strong teamwork skills and a positive, adaptable attitude
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical and oncology patients in a 24-bed unit Administer chemotherapy (if chemo-certified) and perform standard care procedures Maintain patient ratios of 1:5, ensuring attentive, individualized care Accurately document patient information and care activities using meditech Monitor vital signs as per unit protocol, including remote tele patients Collaborate with an experienced team—1 charge nurse, 5 nurses, and administrative care techs per shift—for optimal care delivery Engage in a primary nursing care model and contribute to a supportive, team-focused environment
