Job Description

Category Respiratory Therapist Job Type Contract Advance your career as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in a dynamic healthcare setting serving diverse patient populations from adults to neonates. In this contract role, practitioners utilize advanced respiratory care skills as an essential part of the multidisciplinary team.
Schedule & Shifts:
12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and night shift openings (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) Weekend work requirement is either a full Monday-Friday schedule or weekend shifts, as assigned Monthly call rotation (including weekends, with a 30-minute response time) Rotating holiday coverage Floor-specific orientation: 2 shifts
Qualifications:
Active RRT credential with at least 2 years' recent experience (required) No prior travel assignment history required
Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, PALS, RRT
preferred Proficient with Meditech EMR system Strong interpersonal and customer service skills Must reside at least 75 miles from Phoebe Putney's main campus, as verified by driver's license Able to submit diploma, certificates, transcripts, or applicable degrees due to laboratory and CLIA requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver evidence-based respiratory therapy to adults, neonates, and soon, pediatric patients Perform 35 treatments per day, including vent management, bi-level positive airway pressure, high-flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care Manage critical care procedures: EKG, intubation assistance, emergency/code blue response Assess patients, draw and analyze arterial blood gases (ABGs) Support departments across the facility: ER, acute care, ICU, nursery (including pre-term and preemie stabilization), and delivery
