Job Description

Category Respiratory Therapist Job Type Contract Advance your expertise as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in a dynamic contract role serving diverse patient populations, including adults, neonates, and soon, pediatric cases. This opportunity emphasizes critical care best practices and provides an engaging environment for individuals with strong clinical judgment and adaptability.
Schedule:
12-hour shifts, 7a-7p Night shift availability required every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Call duty once a month (including weekends, 30-minute response time) Floor-specific orientation: 2 shifts Rotating holidays with permanent staff Weekend coverage requirement: Monday-Friday or weekend shift Scrub color: Ceil blue
Qualifications:
Registered Respiratory Therapist credential with a minimum of 2 years of experience (not including travel roles) Active certifications:
BLS, ACLS, PALS, RRT
Familiarity with Meditech EMR Driver's license address must be at least 75 miles from Phoebe Putney's Main Campus Exceptional communication, adaptability, and customer service skills Ability to provide required documentation: diplomas, certificates, transcripts, or degrees per regulatory guidelines
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver respiratory care interventions: vent management, BiPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, trach care, and EKGs Assist in intubations, emergency/code blue responses, and rapid assessment/management of acute cases Draw and analyze arterial blood gases (ABGs); perform related patient testing per laboratory/CLIA standards Care for a variety of patients across ER, Acute Care, ICU, nursery, and labor & delivery, including stabilization of pre-term and preemie infants Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support positive patient outcomes This contract role provides exposure to both high-acuity and developmental care in a supportive clinical environment.
