Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) - $10,000 Sign-On Bonus Position located in Smithtown, NY (Suffolk County), 9am-5pm

Certification Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Obtains and records pertinent histories from patients, charts and computerized ultrasound reporting system. Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify record and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images. Uses independent judgment during sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings. Analyses sonograms, synthesizes sonographic information and medical history, and communicates findings to the appropriate physician. Completes exam data entry for each patient in computerized reporting system. Maintains a procedure log per policy Completes billing process as indicated. Cleans probes according to manufacturers' instructions after each patient, and wipes down machines after last patient of the day. Stocks exam rooms and informs supervision when stock items run low. Employee aids in the orientation of new staff, may precept students.

Position Requirements and Qualifications Education:

MUST HAVE RVT

Certification Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or Cardiovascular Program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) is required. Bachelor of Science degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography is desirable.

Preferred:

Active certification by American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in the specialty (ies) as appropriate (or within one year of employment or transfer). Current compliance with continuing medical education (CME) requirements for specialty (ies) as appropriate or within one year of employment.

Experience:

Minimum 2 years of experience working with patients in intended area of specialty. Salary Range USD $47.53 - USD $54.08 /Hr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
