Job Description

Job Title:
BIM Specialist Job Description The BIM Specialist develops, maintains, and coordinates detailed 3D building information models to support design, engineering, and construction workflows. This role works closely with architects, engineers, and project teams to ensure models are accurate, well-organized, and aligned with project standards throughout the entire project lifecycle. The BIM Specialist plays a key role in integrating multidisciplinary information into coherent models that support decision-making, clash detection, and efficient project delivery. Responsibilities Develop and maintain detailed 3D building information models using Revit or similar BIM platforms. Coordinate BIM models across architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines to ensure consistency and accuracy. Interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings and translate them into accurate 3D models. Support design, engineering, and construction workflows by providing up-to-date and well-organized BIM models. Perform model checks and quality control to ensure compliance with project standards and BIM execution plans. Use BIM tools, such as Navisworks, to support clash detection, coordination, and issue resolution. Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and project stakeholders to incorporate design changes and updates into the models. Ensure that BIM models remain aligned with project requirements throughout the full project lifecycle. Organize and manage model data to support project documentation, coordination meetings, and construction activities. Contribute to continuous improvement of BIM processes, standards, and best practices within the project team. Essential Skills Proficiency in Revit or similar BIM platforms. Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings and 3D models. Strong understanding of construction processes and BIM methodologies. Experience with building information modeling for design, engineering, and construction workflows. Familiarity with Navisworks or comparable coordination and clash detection tools. Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate and well-organized models. Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary project teams. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience supporting data center or similar complex building projects is beneficial. Ability to adapt to evolving project standards and BIM execution plans. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to model coordination and issue resolution. Interest in contributing to process improvements and BIM best practices. Work Environment This role offers a remote work environment, providing flexibility to perform all responsibilities off-site while supporting data center projects. You will collaborate virtually with architects, engineers, and project stakeholders using BIM and coordination tools such as Revit and Navisworks. The position is initially structured as a contract role, with the possibility of extension and potential conversion to a full-time opportunity. Work is performed in a professional, technology-driven setting that emphasizes digital collaboration, accurate model management, and effective communication across distributed teams. Dress code is consistent with a professional remote work environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fairfax, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $52.00 - $52.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
