Job Summary:
The Renal Clinical Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the dialysis center's operations, ensuring the delivery of safe and effective dialysis treatments to residents. This leadership position involves managing a team of skilled dialysis staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and fostering an environment that prioritizes patient care. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in renal care, leadership, and a commitment to improving clinical outcomes for patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the dialysis center, ensuring smooth and efficient patient care delivery. Supervise, train, and mentor the dialysis team, including nurses, technicians, and support staff. Develop and implement clinical protocols and ensure adherence to best practices in renal care. Ensure that all dialysis treatments are conducted according to physician orders and established policies and procedures. Conduct patient assessments and collaborate with the healthcare team to develop individualized care plans. Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting care plans as needed to achieve optimal outcomes. Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, including OSHA, CDC, and CMS guidelines, in addition to industry-specific standards. Perform quality assurance activities and audits, ensuring high standards of care are consistently maintained. Manage inventory, equipment, and supplies for the dialysis center, ensuring that all items are properly maintained and stocked. Liaise with physicians, nursing staff, and family members to discuss patient care, treatment plans, and any concerns. Provide education and support to residents and families regarding renal disease management, dialysis procedures, and post-treatment care. Participate in performance improvement initiatives and staff training programs.
Qualifications:
Registered Nurse (RN) with a current and valid NY state license. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in dialysis care, with at least 2 years in a leadership role. Certification in Nephrology Nursing (CNN) or equivalent preferred. Strong knowledge of renal disease management and dialysis techniques, including both hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. Experience with regulatory compliance and quality assurance in a clinical setting. Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
