Reporting QC Associate - FTIR

A Day in the LifeAs a QA/QC Specialist - FTIR, you'll be responsible for focusing on the technical integrity of our emissions monitoring data. This position is responsible for the independent review and quality control of in-field FTIR-based stack testing projects. You will act as a technical bridge, ensuring that complex analytical data is validated against established methodologies and translated into comprehensive reporting packages.
The compensation range for this role is $23.50hr to $26.50hr. To thrive in this role, you'll be comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities:
Review and QC in-field FTIR-based stack testing projects, ensuring all data meets regulatory and internal standardsFollow established testing methods, procedures, and processes to support consistent and reliable data validation and reportingIndependently perform FTIR sample reprocessing and develop and validate calibrations to ensure the highest data qualityPerform advanced troubleshooting of analytical testing data and equipment; write up suggested next steps and corrective actions for field teamsManage the full data lifecycle from recording and interpreting complex data and field notes to writing comprehensive technical reportsCommunicate critical process details, findings, and data anomalies to supervisors, project managers, and team members to ensure project successAssist in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and participate in training to stay current with FTIR technology and regulatory shiftsPerform in-field FTIR-based stack testing according to established procedures as neededSet up, operate, and maintain analytical testing equipmentParticipate in training for career development, safety and maintaining required certificationsYour Expertise and SkillsThese requirements reflect the knowledge, skills and abilities that help you do your best work .Expertise with data acquisition and processing software relevant to FTIR analysis is required0-3 years of professional experience in an analytical laboratory settingAbility to work independently and with minimal supervisionBachelor's degree in science or engineering, chemistry preferredCapability to pass background checks and initial and random drug screeningValid driver's licenseAbility to obtain a DOT medical certification and OSHA Respiratory Protection Medical EvaluationFlexibility is a must as the position may require weekend travel or work for a few projects during the yearCapacity for overnight and local travel for multi-weekday projectsWork Environment and Physical RequirementsThe physical and environmental requirements below reflect what's typically needed to perform the essential functions of this role safely and effectively.
