Job Description
Job Description Overview The Auburn University Cotton Agronomy Program led by Dr. Josh Lee focuses on practices that improve profitability and sustainability in Alabama cotton production. The program is seeking a highly motivated and independent person interested in advancing cotton production in Alabama. The individual will oversee daily operations that are conducted in the lab. Tasks include data collection, treatment implementation, record keeping, sample preparation, sample processing, data analysis, and interpretation of data finding to general audiences. Applicants will be expected to train undergraduate students on cotton data collection and lead research efforts without supervision of the PI. Knowledge of operating specialized farm equipment operation is preferred. The individual will be expected to travel across the state for data collection and treatment implementation (e.g. spraying a research trial at an on-farm location). Research efforts will be conducted at Alabama Agricultural Experiment Stations in addition to on-farm trials. Responsibilities Assist the PI with treatment implementation Led team efforts in data collection across the state Train undergraduate students in data collection Ensure quality and accurate data collection Ability to work independently and as a team Strong work ethic and willingness to work in cotton production Willingness to work early and late hours during peak management times Ability to work under adverse weather conditions (
Ex:
