Job Description
Wound Care Nurse Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Wound Care Nurse to join our healthcare team. As a Wound Care Nurse, you will be responsible for providing specialized care and treatment to patients with acute or chronic wounds. Your expertise in wound assessment, management, and treatment will be crucial in promoting healing and preventing complications. - Conduct thorough assessments of patients' wounds, including measurement, staging, and documentation
- Develop individualized care plans based on the assessment findings and patient needs
- Administer appropriate wound care treatments, including dressing changes, debridement, and application of topical medications
- Monitor patients' progress and response to treatment, adjusting care plans as necessary
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Educate patients and their families on proper wound care techniques and prevention strategies
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe environment for patients
Experience:
To be successful in this role, you should have the following experience:- All applicants must have an active Wound Care Certification
- Minimum of [2] years of experience as a Wound Care Nurse or in a similar role
- Proficiency in wound assessment, management, and treatment techniques
- Experience with sonography for wound evaluation is preferred
- Knowledge of acute pain management strategies
- Experience administering injections for pain management or other purposes
- Familiarity with acute care settings and the ability to handle complex cases
- Strong anatomy knowledge to understand wound healing processes
- Excellent case management skills to coordinate care for patients with multiple comorbidities
