Job Description

Overview Kemin Nutrisurance is looking for a Research Technician. This person will work along side other team members focusing on pet food and rendering technologies. In this role you'll be part of the science shaping the future of pet nutrition, with a strong focus on kibble innovation. Most of your work centers on kibble studies, from creating formulations to running oxidative tests and performing sample extractions. In this role you will keep lab equipment in top shape, maintain organized inventory, and carry out experiments under direct supervision. You'll also play a key role in advancing new kibble prototypes and generating the data that shows which formulations are ready to move forward. Your work will directly influence which concepts become the next breakthrough in pet nutrition.

Responsibilities Supports and assist scientific team with various R D projects. Prior research experience in a lab or pilot‑scale environment Perform lab experiments within well-defined guidelines and under direct supervision; operate laboratory equipment. Maintain accurate and detailed electronic laboratory notebooks. Organize and maintain small laboratory equipment and instrumentation. Coordinates maintenance on scientific and laboratory and instrumentation equipment. Exercise laboratory safety practices. Ability to travel two-three times a year Qualifications Education Associates Degree in a scientific related field with 0-2 years of relevant experience Must be highly motivated, reliable, and self-sufficient. Attention to detail and awareness of safety. Proficient verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently and/or in a team environment Ability to follow written and oral instructions and work in a fast paced environment Excellent time management and organizational skills.
