Resident Director for Student Activities

Resident Director for Student Activities Position Summary The Resident Director for Student Activities is a full time, 12 month, live on position with a primary responsibility of providing oversight, programming, and engagement as part of the Residence Life team in a Residence Hall. In addition, the Resident Director for Student Activities also serves on the Residence Life team, participating in an on-call duty rotation and assisting in departmental initiatives such as training, engagement, and mentoring a team of Resident Assistants. The Resident Director for Student Activities will also be responsible for the oversight of King University's SLACK group, who is responsible for large programming and activities on campus. Key Areas of Responsibility 1. Student Engagement & Campus Experience Provide strategic leadership for student activities, including campus-wide programming and events Advise and oversee SLACK (Student Activities group) , supporting student leadership development and event execution Promote a vibrant campus culture of belonging, connection, and student involvement Support institutional retention efforts through intentional engagement strategies 2. Spiritual Formation & Christian Community Partner with Campus Ministries to integrate faith into student engagement and residential experiences Support chapel participation, discipleship, and service opportunities through programming collaboration Model Christ-like servant leadership and foster spiritual growth among student leaders Ensure student activities and orientation experiences reflect the mission and Christian commitments of the institution 3. Residential Education & Student Care Provide direct oversight of a residential hall or area, including supervision and development of 8-10 Resident Assistants Participate in a Residential Curriculum and engagement strategy that provides holistic care for students and leadership development for student staff. Participate in a professional on-call rotation , responding to student crises and campus incidents Ensure regular residential processes and systems are followed, including submitting maintenance requests, and incident reports in a timely manner, notifying campus personnel of relevant issues, maintaining a regular schedule of health and safety inspections, and other systems related reporting. Support student well-being initiatives in collaboration with Student Affairs and campus partners. Participate in the Student Conduct process as intake specialists, writing referrals to be reviewed by the Student Care Committee. 6. Campus Collaboration & Institutional Engagement Partner with Academic Affairs and campus stakeholders to support student success and retention Collaborate on campus-wide initiatives and signature institutional events Engage families, as appropriate, in supporting student transition and involvement Qualifications Bachelors degree in a human services, biblical studies, christian ministries, or related field. Experience in residential life or student housing preferred Demonstrated commitment to the Christian faith and ability to integrate faith into student development work.
