Resident Mentor

South Jersey Recovery Residences is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Resident Mentors for our recovery housing program. This position is responsible for helping maintain a safe, structured, and supportive sober living environment for individuals recovering from substance use disorders. Resident Mentors serve as positive role models and provide guidance, accountability, and peer support to residents as they work toward long-term recovery and independence. Key Responsibilities Provide support, guidance, and accountability to residents in recovery Monitor the residence to ensure a safe, structured, and sober environment Enforce house rules and program expectations Perform routine house checks and safety monitoring Assist with drug and alcohol screenings when required Support residents with daily living structure, recovery goals, and problem-solving Document incidents or concerns and communicate with leadership when necessary Assist with conflict resolution and de-escalation Encourage participation in recovery meetings, treatment programs, and employment Maintain a professional and supportive environment for all residents Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Clean Drivers License Experience in behavioral health, recovery support, or peer mentorship preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to maintain professional boundaries Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently CPR/First Aid certification is a plus Schedule Full-time and part-time positions available Evening, overnight, and weekend shifts may be required Compensation Competitive hourly pay based on experience Opportunities for growth within behavioral health and recovery services About South Jersey Recovery Residences South Jersey Recovery Residences provides structured sober living environments that support individuals in early recovery.
