This role ensures resident services function smoothly by leading by example, modeling care expectations, and providing support. The RSC acts as an advocate for the community's vision and values.
Essential Functions:
The following essential functions are normal for this position. This list is not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. Healthcare Obtain vital signs and notify the supervising nurse of deviations per the Individualized Service Plan (ISP) Follow residents' ISP and daily task sheets Communicate changes in resident status or home situation to appropriate supervisors Utilize standard precautions and infection control procedures Follow written instructions and request assistance when needed Maintain a safe and clean resident environment Exhibit a caring and respectful attitude toward residents and their property Assist with activities and encourage resident engagement and participation Uphold confidentiality of residents and coworkers (HIPPA) Provide assistance with: Personal hygiene Changing bed linens and making beds Toileting and incontinent care Nutritional and fluid intake Dressing Ambulation and transfers Positioning Medication reminders Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice Culinary Prepare schedules for Cooks and Culinary Service Aides Ensure quality food preparation and presentation Plan menus minimizing leftovers Prepare food, serve meals, and clean dishes Develop and update the full-service "Anytime" menu Maintain food storage and rotation Order food and supplies as needed Maintain a three-day supply of dry goods for emergency situations Maintain inventory of kitchen equipment, food, and supplies and complete annual inventories Comply with food storage, sanitation, and hazardous material regulations Monitor temperatures and cleaning schedules Ensure proper sanitation practices and train appropriate staff Conduct culinary service meetings Use proper body mechanics when lifting or pushing carts Miscellaneous Participate in hiring and training staff Enforce and comply with PPE requirements Train new employees on job duties and Policies & Procedures Attend bi-weekly and mandatory in-service meetings Follow all community and company policies and the Employee Handbook Report unsafe conditions immediately Perform other duties as assigned Desired Skills and Experience Culinary experience Healthcare experience Leadership experience Professional and welcoming demeanor Excellent communication skills Strong organizational skills Good work ethic Listening and problem-solving skills Genuine interest in the aging process and elderly care Strong commitment to providing quality services Decision-making, budgeting, and goal-setting abilities Open to change and learning Ability to empower staff and work as part of a team Compassionate and patient approach Ability to take direction and respond effectively to supervision Required Education and Experience One to three years of experience and/or training in healthcare and/or culinary services, or equivalent education One to three years of managerial experience, preferably in healthcare Physical & Work Requirements Regular standing, walking, sitting, reaching, and use of hands Occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, tasting, or smelling Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally Indoor, climate-controlled work environment Possible exposure to outdoor weather, chemicals, moving mechanical parts, and electrical risks Continuous interaction with residents and family members under stress Position is considered safety-sensitive The Perks That Matter Competitive salary and bonus opportunities Health, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance 401(k) with match Paid time off and flexible hours Employee assistance program and on-demand pay Career growth in a fast-growing company About Jaybird Senior Living We provide seniors with the exceptional care they deserve, in an extraordinary living environment.
