Position:
Resident Wellness Director (Director of Nursing) We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and highly motivated nursing leader to oversee the health and wellness of our residents. This role is essential in ensuring exceptional care, supporting our dedicated team, and fostering a positive environment for residents, families, and staff. The Resident Wellness Director leads with heart, clinical expertise, and a commitment to Inspirit's mission. You will be responsible for resident well-being, team member development, training, quality assurance, and compliance. You will also serve as an inspiring role model in our assisted living community. Key ResponsibilitiesResident Care & Assessment Ensure every resident has an up-to-date Service Plan in accordance with company policy and state guidelines. Complete state-specific assessments and clinical tools. Conduct initial assessments, wellness visits, illness visits, and care reviews. Participate in Service Plan meetings. Monitor 24-Hour Reports for physical/behavioral changes and ensure accurate documentation. Communicate with families, physicians, and outside providers as needed. Care Coordination Collaborate with Director of Sales on scheduling assessments. Discuss service level changes—including Incontinence Program and Medication Fees—with the Executive Director. Serve as liaison for home health, mental health, hospitals, pharmacies, and other healthcare partners. Maintain continuity of care for residents transitioning between care settings. Health & Safety Oversight Monitor infections, incidents, and accidents. Oversee infection control compliance and perform infection control rounds. Maintain medical supply inventory. Coordinate the Incontinence Program. Provide emergency first aid to residents and team members. Documentation & Compliance Maintain complete and accurate Wellness Files. Ensure proper documentation of all care, condition changes, and services. Review and verify physician orders monthly. Support OSHA compliance and state regulatory requirements. Participate in Quality Assurance meetings; implement plans of correction when necessary. Training & Team Development Lead onboarding and orientation for new team members. Provide ongoing training, coaching, and support to all wellness staff. Conduct timely performance reviews. Foster a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and compassion. Medication Management Oversight Support implementation of training programs. Oversee Self-Administration Medication Management. Ensure accurate documentation for each resident. Provide guidance to Medication Aides to maintain regulatory compliance. Communication & Resident Support Assist residents and families through transitional periods. Maintain ongoing communication with hospitals and families when residents are admitted off-site. Address and resolve pharmacy-related issues. Leadership Expectations Be accessible, visible, and actively engaged in community life. Attend Stand-Up and Cross-Over meetings. Model Inspirit's values daily while supporting residents, families, and team members.Preferred Qualifications Licensure:
Current state license as an LPN or RN .Experience:
Minimum of 2 years in long-term care or healthcare management.Education:
Must maintain active professional nurse licensure.Screening:
