Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The Residential Counselor - Youth I/DD provides therapeutic residential support to youths with Intellectual and Developmental disabilities. The successful candidate will assist with daily living activities and provide behavioral support in a group home setting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Orients newly admitted clients Plans, leads and supervises client activities Provides positive behavioral supports on a daily basis Provides direct supervision in a group home setting Provides input into assessments, conferences and treatment planning Facilitates community integration through focused recreational activities Provides pre-vocational skills training as indicated based on client needs Collects and records data, and completes all required documentation Provides transportation as needed and accompanies clients to and from appointments Responsible for ensuring a safe, therapeutic environment and adhering to all safety standards, Federal and State regulations, and corporate policies
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & ABILITY
High School diploma or equivalent and one year of experience working with I/DD individuals in a group setting, OR Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a field unrelated to social work/psychology and six (6) months' experience working with I/DD individuals in a group setting, OR Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology or related field Valid unrestricted driver's license with a clean driving record Excellent interpersonal and communications skills Ability to demonstrate respect for children/adolescents and their families
SALARY:
$19.10 to $20.39 per hour based on experience and education. #
