Residential House Supervisor Reports to:
Program Specialist/Operations Manager Job Summary:
The Residential House Supervisor oversees the daily operations and management of assigned residential group homes for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This position ensures compliance with regulatory standards (6400 and Chapter 51), organizational policies, and promotes the overall safety, well-being, and personal growth of program participants.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operational Oversight:
Oversee and manage daily operations for 2-5 residential homes. Ensure compliance with 6400 and Chapter 51 regulations and Home Not Alone policies. Regularly inspect homes to confirm they meet operational and safety standards. Address and promptly resolve operational issues as they arise.
Participant Care:
Supervise participant activities, ensuring quality care and support in daily routines. Administer and oversee medication passes, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to medical prescriptions. Monitor participant health, emotional well-being, and social interactions. Develop and implement tailored food menus to accommodate participant dietary needs and preferences. Ensure individualized support plans (ISP) are followed and implemented effectively. Collaborate with team members to enhance participants' social and life skills.
Administrative Duties:
Review daily T-Logs and Direct Support Professional (DSP) tasks for accuracy and completeness. Manage petty cash accounts, documenting and tracking participant-related expenses. Submit accurate and timely financial records each month. Prepare and manage participant-specific menus, considering dietary preferences and requirements. Conduct monthly home inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and document findings.
Staffing and Scheduling:
Coordinate DSP schedules, ensuring appropriate coverage and compliance with staffing ratios. Approve time-off requests, balancing staff availability with operational needs. Cover shifts when necessary, ensuring continuous and uninterrupted care. Communicate effectively and promptly with staff regarding schedule changes.
Leadership and Training:
Conduct monthly staff meetings, documenting and distributing minutes. Deliver in-service training as required, ensuring DSPs are equipped for their responsibilities. Provide coaching and feedback to staff to maintain high performance and morale.
Incident and Emergency Management:
Respond effectively to emergencies, following established protocols and promptly notifying relevant parties. Document incidents clearly, accurately, and in compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
High School diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field preferred. Experience in Supervising experience role. Knowledge of 6400 and Chapter 51 regulations is required. Ability to manage multiple locations and effectively prioritize tasks. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Must have flexibility to cover shifts as necessary, including evenings, weekends, or emergencies.
Position Requirements:
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required. Availability for on-call responsibilities and emergency shift coverage.
