Residential Program Specialist Support Center - Lancaster, PA 17601 Apply Overview Job Shift Day Shift Apply Description SUMMARY Monitors and ensure that individuals are receiving quality/comprehensive care and services. Supervises and coordinates all personnel assigned to the home by completing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/MAJOR TASKS
a. Participates in the referral process including initial visits and orienting the individual and family/guardian to the home. Completes the initial and on-going required paperwork including admission forms, assessment forms and the establishment of individual records for all on their caseload. b. Coordinates individual program planning, ensuring that there is the completion of monthly and quarterly documentation of participation and progress towards established individual outcomes. Responsible for the development, revision and required implementation of each Individual Support Plan (ISP) as written. c. Monitors individuals' health needs, ensuring that scheduling required appointments is done, and ensuring that all required paperwork is accurately completed. Ensures that there is training for each direct service worker in the content of health and safety needs relevant to each individual on their caseload. d. Professionally and rationally addresses immediate individual problems in collaboration with program staff and interdisciplinary team, reporting serious concerns to the Director. e. In conjunction with and in the absence of the Program Supervisor responsible to supervise all personnel assigned to the home including monitoring of performance, training of new staff, ensuring that staff complete all required training, ensuring that there is the completion of annual performance evaluations, and monitoring staff performance on announced and unannounced visits to the home. f. Coordinate monthly staff meetings with Program Supervisors to facilitate communication and ensure consistency of goals/outcomes, optimum level of care and minimize chance of risk to employees and the individuals in our care. g. Oversee the coordination of staff schedules, including assisting the Program Supervisor in contacting substitutes, scheduling staff for all time periods when the individuals are present in the home, organizing staff schedules to ensure efficient use of staff time and eliminating overtime wherever possible. Ultimate responsibility for coverage of staff shortages if no Program Supervisor or substitute staff is available. h. Keeps all Program Supervisors that are assigned to designated programs aware of agency happenings and changes. Ensure that all communication, i.e. memos, policy changes are forwarded to staff in a timely fashion. i. Demonstrates commitment to ensuring the continuity of services and completion of duties by establishing a contingency plan in case of a lengthy absence from the job. Works in cooperation with others to see that all responsibilities of the job are met. j. Possesses a thorough working knowledge and ensures compliance with agency policy and procedures, state regulations, county guidelines and any other relevant regulations. k. Assures accurate completion of all required reports and forms including medical reports, house budget, individual expenditures, facility/equipment repair requests, reportable incidents, programmatic reports, fire drills, payroll submissions, inventory, etc... l. Assists with internal licensing inspections and preparation for annual state licensing. m. Acts as a welcome host for any visitors to the organization during home visits, meetings, trainings, etc… n. Knowledge of emergency procedures and reporting requirements including web-based reporting requirements. Serve on the Emergency On-call team, serve as a Certified Investigator and serve as a Certified Medication Trainer or Practicum Observer at the discretion of the Director. o. Works independently but conveys observations and key issues to the Director on a regular basis. p. Attend and conducts meetings and training as required. Completes a minimum of 24 hours of training relevant to human services training each training year. q. Works in all circumstances in a manner consistent with the Core Values of the organization. r. Any other duties and/or special projects that may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages 1 - 7 supervisors who supervise a total of 2-11 employees. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of 1 - 7 community homes. Also assists in supervision of non-supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures, as well as all applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems in a timely fashion.

Ability to speak clearly and express self well in groups and in one-on-one conversations. Computer skills, ability to navigate the internet and complete web-based reports is required. 2.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. 3.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to think independently, gather relevant information systematically, grasp complexities and use problem solving skills daily. Ability to act with clarity and in a timely manner. 4.
EDUCATION/EMPLOYMENT EXPERIENCE
Minimum of a bachelor's degree in a related field and 2 years experience working directly with persons with intellectual/developmental disabilities. Experience in the facilitating and implementation of individual support plans which are person centered and meaningful. Previous managerial experience required. Demonstrated leadership ability. 5.
