Respite Caregiver

Responsibilities:

• Provide compassionate and personalized care to disabled adult son in our home.
• Assist disabled son with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Monitor and record vital signs of disabled son.
• Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals
• Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary
• Ensure the safety and well-being of disabled son at all times
• Maintain a clean and organized environment for disabled son
• Respect and uphold the rights of our disabled son,, promoting their dignity and independence
• Communicate effectively with disabled son, his family, and the healthcare team
• Provide emotional support and companionship to disabled son.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred but not required
• Ability to provide patient-centered care with empathy and compassion
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with disabled son, family, and healthcare professionals
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as heavy lifting and assisting with transfers
• Knowledge of disabled sons rights and the importance of maintaining confidentiality
• Willingness to undergo any necessary training or certifications required by the family
