Executive Chef Role Summary Spirits Bar & Grill is seeking two professional, high-energy Line Cooks to join our culinary team. This role is responsible for preparing high-quality dishes with precision and speed across several service areas. At Spirits, your work does more than just feed our guests; as part of Bayside Housing & Services, our hospitality operations directly support our mission to provide housing and advocacy for our community. Every meal prepared—whether for a restaurant guest or a shelter resident—helps sustain the programs that provide a "hand up" to those in need in our local area. In this role, you will work with fresh ingredients sourced from our onsite gardens and support a diverse range of service needs, including daily restaurant operations, shelter meal service, and various events and catering.
Key Responsibilities Station Management:
Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies, including fresh produce harvested from our onsite gardens.
Multi-Service Execution:
Prepare and cook menu items for a variety of needs, including: High-volume restaurant service at Spirits Bar & Grill. Nutritious, high-quality meals for the Bayside shelter program. Catering and banquet production for onsite events and festivals.
Quality Control:
Ensure that all food meets quality standards and is delivered in a timely, synchronized fashion.
Safety & Sanitation:
Maintain a clean and organized workstation; strictly comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
Inventory:
Help monitor stock levels and minimize food waste to ensure the kitchen operates efficiently and sustainably.
Mission Integration Community Impact:
Understand and represent the Bayside Mission, recognizing that our work provides the financial foundation and direct support for transitional housing and community services.
Collaborative Environment:
Maintain a professional and respectful demeanor that reflects our organizational values of dignity and community care.
Resource Stewardship:
Practice diligent portion control and waste management to maximize the resources available for our non-profit initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
Proven experience as a Line Cook, Restaurant Cook, or Prep Cook.
Technical Skills:
Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
Versatility:
Ability to transition effectively between restaurant service, large-scale catering prep, and shelter meal production.
Pace:
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Certification:
