The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a smoke shop or vape shop , strong product knowledge, and excellent customer service skills. You'll be responsible for assisting customers, maintaining store appearance, managing inventory, and ensuring an outstanding shopping experience. Duties Greet customers warmly as they enter the store, creating an inviting atmosphere that encourages engagement. Assist customers in locating products, providing detailed product demos when needed to showcase features and benefits. Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently for transactions, including cash handling, credit card processing, and receipts. Upsell complementary products and accessories by understanding customer needs and recommending suitable options. Maintain attractive merchandise displays through effective merchandising and stock replenishment to enhance product visibility. Stock shelves regularly, ensuring products are organized, labeled correctly, and available for customer purchase. Conduct product demos to educate customers about new items or features, enhancing their shopping experience. Handle customer inquiries via phone with professional phone etiquette, providing prompt assistance or directing calls appropriately. Manage inventory levels by participating in stock counts and communicating low-stock items to management. Support team members by supervising junior staff when necessary and contributing to a positive team environment. Ensure compliance with store policies on cash handling, sales procedures, and safety protocols at all times. Qualifications Previous retail sales experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key! Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse customers; bilingual abilities are a plus. Experience with POS systems, cashiering, and basic retail math to handle transactions accurately. Knowledge of grocery store operations or familiarity with grocery retail environments is advantageous. Demonstrated ability to upsell products effectively while maintaining excellent customer service standards. Supervising experience is beneficial for leadership opportunities within the team. Ability to perform physical tasks such as stocking shelves, setting up displays, and standing for extended periods. Excellent phone etiquette for engaging with customers over the phone professionally. Basic math skills necessary for cash handling and retail calculations confidently and accurately. Strong merchandising skills coupled with attention to detail in maintaining store presentation standards.
