Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist - Retail Job Type Contract A healthcare facility in Fairfield, OH, seeks a dedicated Pharmacist to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care within a hospital setting. This contract role begins June 1st, working Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, including every sixth weekend with subsequent weekday time off. Candidates must hold a valid Ohio Pharmacy license and bring hospital pharmacy experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately review, interpret, validate, and dispense medication orders. Monitor and manage patient medication therapies, ensuring safety and effectiveness tailored to individual needs. Communicate drug information effectively to patients, families, and healthcare professionals. Participate in drug therapy management during medical emergencies by providing medication preparation and information. Oversee daily pharmacy technician activities to ensure optimal patient care. Maintain pharmacy policies, quality improvement programs, and comply with regulatory requirements. Uphold organizational values such as empathy, integrity, stewardship, agility, and teamwork to foster a positive work environment.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor of Science or PharmD degree from an accredited American College of Pharmacy. Valid Ohio Pharmacy License in good standing. Minimum of one year hospital pharmacy experience preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with colleagues, medical staff, patients, and families. Commitment to continuous learning, quality improvement, and patient-centered care. Physical and cognitive demands require medium physical exertion, analytical problem-solving skills, memory retention, and effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
