Months Potential Extension Conversion Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Revenue Accountant to support digital and direct to consumer business operations within a fast paced enterprise environment. This role will focus on revenue recognition accounting, contract analysis, order processing, and month end close activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical capabilities, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic accounting environment. The position will partner closely with finance, sales, tax, audit, and operations teams to ensure accurate revenue reporting and compliance. This opportunity also includes participation in financial system migration projects and workflow automation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage month end close activities related to revenue recognition including journal entries, deferred revenue roll forwards, revenue analysis, unbilled receivables, and credit card reconciliations. Calculate subscription revenue waterfall schedules for revenue amortization and monthly revenue recognition reporting. Prepare and consolidate disclosure schedules and reporting documentation for accounting and audit purposes. Coordinate incoming payments with order to cash teams for cash management entries and calculation of credit card fees, cash in transit, and tax accruals. Partner with indirect tax teams and external tax partners to support sales tax filings and ensure compliance requirements are met. Provide guidance to sales and business operations teams on revenue recognition impacts and accounting treatment. Support quarterly SOX audits and respond to internal and external audit requests. Participate in testing and implementation activities related to financial system migration projects across domestic and international business units. Collaborate with managers and engineering teams to execute workflow automation and process improvement initiatives. Perform ad hoc revenue analysis and accounting related projects as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Minimum 5 years of accounting experience. Experience working with Oracle or major ERP systems. Intermediate to advanced Excel skills including vLookup and pivot tables. Strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines in a fast paced environment. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in advertising media or streaming services industry. Experience with Operative One, Salesforce, or Recurly platforms. Experience with payment gateway and banking systems. Knowledge of foreign currency transactions. High attention to detail and problem solving capabilities.
