You will determine contingency plans that may be necessary based on actual work situations uncovered at start of work project (i.e., operational risk management). You will direct and supervise all diving/rigging work at diving/rigging work sites, assign tools, equipment and materials, instruct workers on proper work methods, use and care of equipment, and safe work practices. You will conduct daily interactive pre-job briefings, which involve explaining current diving operations, repairs and other work procedures. You will perform administrative and supervisory responsibilities to include maintaining all records of divers' time and manhour charges, work progress, accidents, injuries, and caused of these and prepare reports as required. Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. The incumbent must be a first-class diver with Navy diving experience as a diving supervisor controlling diving operations or previously qualified as a Navy Master Diver. Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
