Job Title:
RME Maintenance Technician II (MRT) Job Description This role focuses on installing, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining complex material handling systems in a large, highly automated distribution facility. The Maintenance Technician II performs preventive and corrective maintenance on conveyors and related industrial equipment, troubleshoots mechanical and basic electrical issues, and ensures equipment uptime by accurately documenting work and following established procedures. This position supports a fast-paced, data-driven environment where reliability, safety, and continuous improvement are essential. Responsibilities Install, inspect, repair, and maintain material handling equipment, including conveyor systems and related components. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance routines on material handling equipment and batteries, following established documentation and procedures. Conduct battery changes and complete preventive maintenance on industrial batteries to ensure safe and reliable operation. Enter equipment downtime data into daily logs and accurately complete preventive maintenance (PM) sheets and records. Apply basic electrical knowledge to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with equipment components. Perform diagnostic testing and mechanical troubleshooting to identify root causes of equipment failures or performance issues. Create and update work orders based on inspections, diagnostics, and repair needs identified during maintenance activities. Track, organize, and store department inventory, including spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies. Follow lockout/tagout and other safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment during maintenance and repair activities. Collaborate with other technicians and operations personnel to minimize equipment downtime and improve system reliability. Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying recurring issues and suggesting enhancements to maintenance processes. Work effectively in a high-speed, automated, and robotics-driven environment while meeting performance expectations tracked by operational data. Essential Skills At least 6 months of hands-on experience performing maintenance on equipment within the last 2 years of employment. Experience performing maintenance on complex systems and industrial equipment, including running diagnostics, conducting inspections, troubleshooting, repairing, and creating work orders. Proven experience in conveyor maintenance or similar material handling systems in environments such as distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or industrial operations. Mechanical troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and repair equipment issues efficiently. Basic electrical knowledge of components and the ability to apply this knowledge to equipment troubleshooting and repair. Experience performing preventive maintenance and following structured maintenance routines and schedules. Familiarity with lockout/tagout or similar safety procedures for equipment maintenance. Ability to accurately complete maintenance documentation, including downtime logs and preventive maintenance sheets. Comfort working in a data-driven environment where performance is monitored through metrics and system data. Physical ability to walk significant distances (such as 10,000 steps per day) and work on feet in a large facility. Flexibility and willingness to work any 10-hour shift, including days, nights, and weekends as needed. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or industrial environments performing maintenance on complex systems and industrial equipment, particularly conveyor systems. n automotive, military, or industrial facilities maintenance performing diagnostics, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on complex equipment. Preferred education includes an associate degree from a technical school, apprenticeship training, relevant certifications, military technical training, or equivalent hands-on training in a maintenance-related field. Exposure to high-speed automation and robotic equipment within an industrial or distribution setting. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for managing spare parts and maintenance inventory. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate clearly about equipment status and maintenance needs. Why Work Here? Safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, are an integral part of daily work, and you will regularly interact with automated and robotic equipment using standard industrial tools and maintenance systems. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Worth, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.50 - $32.50/hr.
