Forklift Operator Job Description This role involves safely operating sit-down, stand-up, and reach forklifts in a fast-paced distribution environment. You will handle materials throughout the warehouse, consistently lift up to 50 pounds, and perform palletizing and case selection throughout the day to support efficient shipping, receiving, and order fulfillment operations. Responsibilities Operate sit-down, stand-up, and reach forklifts safely and efficiently throughout the shift. Perform palletizing and case selection continuously to support order fulfillment and distribution activities. Handle materials, including loading and unloading pallets, cases, and other freight from trucks and storage locations. Use pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment to move pallets and products within the facility. Pick and stage orders accurately for shipping and receiving using RF scan guns and related warehouse technology. Support shipping and receiving operations by loading, unloading, and organizing products in designated areas. Perform general labor tasks as needed, including organizing pallets, maintaining clean work areas, and assisting team members. Consistently lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the shift. Follow all safety procedures, equipment guidelines, and warehouse protocols to maintain a safe work environment. Inspect forklifts and related equipment before use and promptly report any issues or concerns. Essential Skills At least 3 years of experience operating reach forklifts in a warehouse or distribution environment. Proficiency operating sit-down forklifts, stand-up forklifts, and reach trucks. Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds consistently throughout the workday. Hands-on experience with material handling, including loading, unloading, and moving pallets. Experience with order picking and case selection in a warehouse setting. Ability to use RF scan guns to pick, track, and verify inventory and orders. Demonstrated experience with pallet jacks and warehouse forklifts. Strong attention to safety procedures and equipment operation guidelines. Ability to work in a physically demanding role that requires constant movement and lifting. Reliable work ethic with the ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy and consistency. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working in shipping and receiving operations. Background in general labor within a warehouse or distribution center. Familiarity with organizing and managing pallets and palletized loads. Comfort working in a high-volume, fast-paced warehouse environment. Work Environment This position is based in a non-climate-controlled distribution center, where temperatures will vary with the seasons. The role is physically demanding and involves continuous standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and operating material handling equipment throughout the shift. Appropriate work attire suitable for a warehouse and industrial setting is required. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Worth, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
