Job Description

Job Title:
Fleet Manager Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to oversee daily fleet operations, vehicle maintenance, compliance, driver support, and performance tracking of a 230-vehicle fleet. This role is responsible for ensuring fleet reliability, regulatory compliance, cost control, safety, and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day fleet operations, maintenance schedules, and vehicle availability. Manage the maintenance shop, including technician productivity, workflow, safety, parts coordination, and overall shop performance. Supervise, support, and hold fleet maintenance personnel accountable for timely and accurate completion of assigned work. Monitor preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections, DVIRs, and service completion. Ensure compliance with DOT, company safety standards, and applicable regulations. Track fleet performance using telematics, maintenance software, and reporting tools. Coordinate with drivers, technicians, vendors, and operations leadership. Review fuel usage, vehicle utilization, safety trends, and repair costs. Maintain accurate vehicle records, registrations, inspections, and service documentation. Support accident reporting, vehicle assignments, and corrective action processes. Identify opportunities to reduce downtime, control costs, and improve fleet efficiency. Qualifications Previous fleet management, transportation, logistics, or maintenance experience preferred. Experience managing a maintenance shop, technicians, or fleet maintenance personnel preferred. Military experience preferred. Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and vehicle compliance requirements. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to analyze reports, track KPIs, and follow up on operational issues. Experience with telematics or fleet management systems preferred. Valid driver's license required.
