Job Description
Job description: We are seeking a Director of Nursing (RN) Floater to provide leadership support and coverage across facilities in our Missouri region. This role requires an experienced nursing leader who is flexible and able to step in to support facilities as needed. The ideal candidate must be comfortable traveling between locations and assisting teams to maintain quality care and regulatory compliance. Traveling/Float/Overnight Stays required!
Requirements:
Active RN license Previous Director of Nursing (DON) experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred Ability to travel throughout Missouri Must be available for overnight travel Strong leadership, clinical, and regulatory knowledge This position plays a key role in supporting our facilities, ensuring continuity of care, and assisting teams during times of transition or need. Summary The Director of Nursing plans, organizes, develops, and directs the overall operation of the Nursing department to ensure the highest degree of quality patient care in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards. Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements Minimum of an ASN degree from accredited college or university Currently licensed/registered in applicable State. Must maintain an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing throughout employment. Two (2) years supervisory experience in a post acute care or related setting CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation. CPR certification must remain current during employment. Specific Job Requirements Participates in community health matters/projects as appropriate Liaisons with patients, families, support departments, etc. to adequately plan for patient needs Collect, analyze, and manage data Expert knowledge in field of practice Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action Knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facility Implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department Perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: patient rights, and safety and sanitation Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc. Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information Understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care's Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training Essential Functions Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, establish benchmarks, and direct staff Recruit, select, hire, train, evaluate, counsel, and supervise nursing staff Assign appropriate level of CNAs and LPNs per shift Effectively manage department budget Direct care provided by nursing staff Perform functions of a staff nurse as required Effectively manage and operate within budget Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients Assist in the evacuation of patients Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours Read, write, speak, and understand the English languageBenefits:
