Overview We are seeking a dedicated RN•Special Needs Coordinator to join our healthcare team at Holloman Air Force Base. This vital role involves coordinating and delivering specialized nursing care to patients with diverse and complex medical needs, ensuring comprehensive support within a military healthcare environment. QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Graduate from an accredited college or university
Degree:
Must have ASN Degree or higher
Experience:
Must have 2 years' experience in nursing
Mandatory Certifications :
o Must have current BLS from
American Heart Association or American Red Cross License:
Active RN from any state
Security Clearance:
Must have a clear background in order to pass the security clearance for a military base Familiar with organization structure and operation methods of Air Force Possess excellent written and oral communications skills. Effectively use correct grammar and spelling in all written communications. Must be US Citizen Responsibilities Coordinate appropriate referrals to community and other Government agencies for services. Independently assess the psychosocial functioning and needs of patients and their family members and formulate and implement a treatment plan, identifying the patient's problems, strengths, weaknesses, coping skills and assistance needed, in collaboration with the patient, family and interdisciplinary treatment team. Independently conduct psychosocial assessments and provide psychosocial treatment to a wide variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural, ethnic, educational and other diverse backgrounds. Use medical and mental health diagnoses, disabilities and treatment procedures. This includes acute, chronic and traumatic illnesses/injuries, common medications and their effects/side effects, and medical terminology. Implement treatment modalities in working with individuals, families and groups who are experiencing a variety of psychiatric, medical and social problems to achieve treatment goals. Provide consultation services to other staff about the psychosocial needs of patients and the impact of psychosocial problems on health care and compliance with treatment. Participate in professional peer review case conferences, research studies, or other organizations required at the MTF. Skills Extensive critical care experience with proficiency in ICU settings. Experience working within Level I or Level II trauma centers; familiarity with emergency medicine protocols. Strong background in hospital medicine, including medical-surgical nursing and post-acute care. Knowledge of infectious disease care practices and geriatrics nursing principles. Skilled in behavioral health assessments and emergency room procedures. Proficient in medical terminology, physiology knowledge, and patient assessment techniques. Experience with discharge planning, medical records management, and intake processes. Familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards and diagnostic evaluation procedures. Ability to perform case management functions effectively within inpatient or outpatient settings. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with diverse healthcare teams and engaging patients compassionately. Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly in high-pressure environments such as emergency rooms or trauma units. This RN•Special Needs Coordinator position is integral to delivering exceptional healthcare services within a dynamic military environment. WORK HOURS
Hours of Performance :
Monday•Friday, 7:30am•4:30pm, with a 1 hour unpaid lunchbreak.
Pay:
$32.65•$42.39 per hour
