Rolling Stock Mechanic

Rolling Stock Mechanic Full Time $27 - $32 Per hour DOE A lumber manufacturing operation is seeking a Rolling Stock Mechanic to support the maintenance and repair of mobile equipment used throughout mill operations. This role focuses on keeping essential equipment operating safely and reliably to support production in the log yard, lumber yard, and mill. The position works closely with equipment operators and the maintenance team to perform preventative maintenance, diagnose mechanical issues, and complete repairs on a variety of heavy equipment. What You Will Do Inspect, diagnose, and repair mobile equipment used in mill operations Perform preventative maintenance on loaders, forklifts, log stackers, material handlers, yard trucks, and service vehicles Maintain and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, steering systems, braking systems, and electrical systems Replace or repair components including pumps, hoses, cylinders, belts, and bearings Troubleshoot equipment issues and respond to breakdowns in the log yard or lumber yard Complete routine service tasks including oil changes, lubrication, adjustments, and filter replacements Maintain maintenance records and service logs Work closely with operators and supervisors to ensure equipment reliability Follow all safety procedures including proper Lockout Tagout practices What We Are Looking For Experience in heavy equipment maintenance, diesel mechanics, or industrial equipment repair Strong troubleshooting and mechanical diagnostic skills Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems Experience working with loaders, forklifts, or similar mobile equipment is an asset Ability to safely use hand tools and shop equipment Reliable attendance and strong work ethic Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team Working Environment Combination of shop work and outdoor equipment repairs Industrial lumber mill environment with heavy equipment and moving materials Exposure to noise, dust, and varying weather conditions Benefits Full time, year round employment Consistent 40 hour work schedule with overtime opportunities Stable industrial environment supporting essential operations Opportunity to work with a variety of heavy equipment and machinery This role is ideal for mechanics with experience in heavy equipment, forestry equipment, or diesel maintenance who enjoy hands on troubleshooting and working in an active industrial environment.
