Job Title:
Rotational Molding Machine Operator Job Description This role oversees the daily operation of a rotational molding machine and oven, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production. You will set up, operate, and troubleshoot molding equipment, use a crane to position molds, and maintain consistent operating and quality standards for all products produced in your assigned area. Responsibilities Oversee daily operations of the assigned rotational molding machine and oven to ensure safe and efficient production. Operate and use an overhead crane to set molds and move them into and out of the oven. Perform complete machine set ups and change overs on the rotational molding machine according to production requirements. Troubleshoot the molding machines and ovens to identify and resolve mechanical or process issues in a timely manner. Use hand tools and power tools to assemble, adjust, and maintain molds and related equipment. Trim and finish molded parts as needed to meet quality and dimensional specifications. Monitor operating parameters and product output to ensure all operating and quality standards are consistently met. Follow production instructions, safety procedures, and standard operating procedures throughout each shift. Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safe and efficient machine operation. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to communicate issues, suggest improvements, and support continuous improvement in production processes. Essential Skills Proven experience operating industrial or production machinery. Hands-on experience with hand tools and power tools in a manufacturing or mechanical environment. Experience setting up, changing over, and troubleshooting production machines. Ability to operate a crane or similar lifting equipment to safely move molds and components. Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand how machines and mechanical systems function. Ability to perform trimming and finishing tasks on molded products. Capability to follow detailed work instructions and quality standards. Comfort working around ovens and heat-generating equipment in a production setting. Additional Skills & Qualifications Demonstrated mechanical inclination and interest in mechanical systems. Experience in production, molding, or plastics manufacturing environments. Ability to work safely with rotating equipment, lifting devices, and heated machinery. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products. Willingness to learn new processes and adapt to changing production needs. Why Work Here? Work Environment You will work in a clean manufacturing environment that is not climate controlled. Because the facility uses ovens for rotational molding, temperatures can become very hot in the summer months. You will regularly work around industrial machinery, ovens, and crane equipment, and you will use hand tools and power tools as part of your daily activities. Appropriate safety gear and attire suitable for a production setting will be required to ensure safe and effective performance of your duties. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
